About ElecCalcs
What this site is
A set of electrical and building-mechanical calculators for electricians, contractors and serious DIY work. Every result shows the formula, the substituted values and the code table or article it comes from, so the working can be checked rather than taken on trust.
How it is built
The calculations live in a small, dependency-free core with its own test suite. Each constant carries a reference to the code table it came from and a review status, and themethodology page is generated from that registry rather than written by hand — so it cannot drift from the code.
Calculations run in your browser. The values you type are not sent to our servers.
Review status
Reference values are being checked against the current edition of the code and reviewed by a licensed professional. 15 constants are still marked as pending. Until that review is complete, treat results as unreviewed and confirm anything you rely on for construction against the edition your authority enforces.

Please tell us. Corrections to a reference value or a formula are the most useful thing you can send. Email [email protected] with the page and what you expected.
